Many high schoolers, who do not have college counsellors to guide them, find the application process confusing or lack the necessary information and tips when applying. Therefore, they may be at a competitive disadvantage.

Viewfinder hopes to provide every high schooler with mentors to help them during their college application process, so that they can be on the same level playing field, no matter what background they are from.

Founding Story
​
The founders of Viewfinder are three high school students from German Swiss International School HK with a passion for helping others to find the right university. Like every other highschooler, we encountered challenges when deciding on what and where to study. We had questions about how to apply and what being a university student would be like.
While going on college visits, it was difficult to obtain unbiased information. However, after speaking to current students at various universities, we got to know their honest opinion about their own school. We decided that every other high school student applying to higher education should also benefit from having access to first hand information.

Viewfinder started off as an idea, and through our interest in entrepreneurship and with the help from mentors during the Young Founders School competition in May 2016, this idea was implemented and was quickly turned into reality.
Meet Our Team - The Founders
Kristen Lam, CEO
Kristen recruits mentors and mentees, manages our website, handles the administration behind sessions, and represents the company when pitching to corporates or their human resources department. She believes in helping all high schoolers choose the right home for the next three or four years in university.
Leanne Chiang, COO
Leanne recruits mentors and mentees, occasionally helps out Kristen with her workload, handles administration and also marketing. She believes in helping students reach their dream school by providing them with the best support.
